Amazing quality and great taste. I'm a big fan of dipping sauce with noodle, but other restaurants' dipping sauce is mostly salty or it offers great taste but artificial. This ramen place has few options but it taste very very good.
It was one of the best dish what we ate with my wife in Kyoto. Tsukemen is highly recommended!
Ordered the miso tsukemen and it was amazing! Well worth the wait and whatever number of trains you need to take to get here. Only 11 seats and one man working, but the food comes fast and delicious.
Great dipping ramen. Cozy little space. Very efficient. Get the egg. It's a nice touch and changes up the taste when you add it to a bite. The extra noodles are smaller noodles and they add them straight to your remaining broth with some extra ground pork on top.
Very cozy ramen shop in walking distance from Kyoto station. You order from a ticket machine with an english menu. There are only a few seats but it well worth the wait.
Go for tsukemen. We tried lots of different ramens in Japan and they were all good, so I didnt expect anything can really beat that by a notch. But this particular tsukemen they have here defenitely did. It is different world, so delicious!
Amazing Tsukemen cooked right in front of you by the chef. Small place but well worth the wait. Easy choices on an English menu/vending machine.
The food is delicious and the guys who run the store are very friendly! We went there for lunch yesterday and we got the beef ramen! It was so good! We don't speak very good Japanese, but they were very friendly and the ticket machine to order the ramen was very easy to follow with the directions that were posted. If you're ever in area, you must try! We are going to go back again soon!
Sososo delicious. Must go. Get the big size with an egg 4 realz don't be stingy get the fat portion cos you'll want more if you get the skinny portion
Got the tsukemen as was recommended by other visitors. You won't be disappointed. So good! Different method to eating these but you will see instructions and etiquette at the restaurant. You order via a machine and an English menu is avaialable. Try to go here if you can while In Kyoto. A line forms after it opens but it moves quick. If you can get here a bit early. Cheers
Slightly spicy-meaty broth with chewy noodles are a great combo. Best choice for ramen around Kyoto station that we have found so far! The owner was nice and relaxed, but didn’t speak English. There are English signs inside the shop, so it’s easy to order and to understand how to eat tsukemen. We'll come again!
If you’re looking for some impressive tsukemen (dipping ramen), the come here! It’s the best I’ve had in Japan. And don’t forget to add that dashi/kombu broth to the dipping sauce for a tasty and meaty soup once you’re finished!! おいしいP.s. the noodles have a great texture!
Nice little cozy spot close to Kyoto station. The ramen was the best I've ever had and I would highly recommend it if you're in town.
Ramen with ground pork was deliciously spicy. Short wait. Super nice chefs. Very efficient, unassuming little restaurant. Absolutely loved it.
Wow ! Amazing tastes, we tried 2 different Ramens and couldn't decide which is better. Small place, you will likely need to wait the line but it's worth it. One of the great memories I'll will take with me from Kyoto and one of the best Ramens I tasted.
Tiny 12 seater ramen restaurant that comes highly recommended. Delicious broth and chewy noodles. High quality and standard.
Good, delicious and reasonable price for ramen in Kyoto. Very stable and consistency of taste. Quite good and friendly service. Highly recommend to come and eat here.
It was once in life time experience. Place is small and owned by the main chef himself but. He had lot of pride and skills. It does take time as he makes new broth and noodles for each customers. I have ordered large miso tsuke ramen with half boiled egg. The dipping broth was thick and very rich. Miso paste wasn't shop bought. And egg was at its perfection. Boiled lightly. It was amazing. You won't regret it.
Great dipping noodle dipping ramen. Line was quite long when we arrived but it goes by quickly. This is a 2 man operation, one makes the sauce another the noodles. Would definitely recommend if you are staying nearby.
One of the best Tsukemen shop I’ve ever tried. Small place but good service. Good price. Very worth to try.
Amazing!! Very exceptional Ramen. We order both dipping ramen and the soup ramen. If you run out of noodles, be sure to ask for more noodles. They will ask for 150 yen and you will get a very generous portion to fill the remainder of your broth.
Some of the best ramen I have ever had
Great place not a lot of space but the line moves quickly. The ramen was delicious we had a good time.
Amazing dipping ramen must try when you visit Kyoto. While staff doesn't speak English it's very easy to order via the machine inside. Do expect to wait outside on the street during peak/busy times.
Tsukemen was wonderful, ramen was very good
Very exotic ramen restaurant focusing on meat broth instead of fish broth.Tsukemen here has very rich meat soup, in contrast with usual tsukemen in other shops which focus on the taste of fish and katsuo powder, the taste of the minced meat in the soup pairing with the noodle is extremely delicious. The atmosphere is very good and the chef is very active and friendly. He can speak a little bit of English and eager to communicate with customers.
although it has a small space, the tsukemen's taste is worth it.
Their tsukumen was absolutely delicious. The rich meat broth is almost a thick stew that just clamours and sticks perfectly to the more sticky and dense udon noodles.I don't think I have had any Japanese noodle dish like it a d I was blown away from the flavor. It was probably of the best meals I have had in my weeks spent in Kyoto. The place is small and they don't speak English but if you're adventurous enough and don't mind eating in silence you gotta stop by this place. Thankfully the machine has English on it so you can at least get your order ticket right.
Ok this was seriously great! Get your ticket and wait and before you know it you'll be slurping down some terrific ramen. Everything here has really developed flavours and the staff is pretty nonstop in this tiny little gem.
So delicious! Wished the bowl would never end!
Ramen was excellent. Atmosphere was just ok. Felt rushed and tolerated, not warmly welcomed.
Excellent dipping noodles; second time visiting, a year after the first visit. The taste of the noodles left such an impression that we had to make a return visit when we had the chance. The dipping sauce is very unique and makes for a delicious soup when done with the noodles. It's quite a small place but the queue moves fairly briskly. Instructions to order are relatively clear but might take a while for tourists unfamiliar with ramen places to grasp - tickets should be gotten from the machine before joining the queue, after which the chef would collect the orders for the group.Worth a visit if in Kyoto.
Arrived at 6.05pm (5mins past opening) and the restaurant is already full but fortunately with only 2 guys ahead of me. The ramen here is of a miso minced pork base and I ordered their signature - Tsukemen style. It’s definitely above average Tsukemen style ramen but personally, the dipping base is too watery for my liking. The flavours are intense nevertheless and does not taste watery despite what it’s consistency suggests. =)
Amazing, first time having dipping ramen! Was delicious and cheap
Only 11 seats but we went on a Monday night at around 830pm, only waited a few minutes. It's a one man show, you order and pay at the machine and get your own water. All worth it. The food was delicious. Took the recommendation of adding the egg. That was a bonus.
This place was excellent! They don't speak English but there are instructions in English everywhere so we had no problems. The restaurant itself is small with only a few seats surrounding the kitchen, meant for quick in and out meals to keep seats cycling. The ramen was fantastic. We tried the beef and miso ramen and it was much better than anything we've had in the US. Definitely recommended for a quick lunch!
Very good ramen! As others have said, it is a small place – it only seats 11 people at a time – so you might need to queue for some 20 minutes. There are only a handful of dishes to choose from, with some optional sides to tweak your meal with. I personally think this is a plus, as it makes choosing easier and allows the staff to focus on bringing delicious food to your table quickly. The ground pork ramen with a boiled egg side was really good and only cost around 800 yen. It was spicy enough not to be bland, but not so spicy that it would make you regret your decision the day after.
The tsukumen was the best food I have had during our 2 week trip through Japan
Excellent dipping noodles! I came across this place unexpectedly, there was a long queue outside and I decided to try it out. The noodles is just right and the dipping sauce is amazing! It had the right proportion of spicyness and flavour. I would definitely visit Ginjo Ramen Kubota again next time I am in Kyoto.
Awesome stuff. Incredibly delicious. Fast and efficient. There are only about 10-11 seats, but they turn over fairly quickly. We waited about 20 minutes and I'd be willing to wait at least 45 for that dipping sauce.
Best meal that I've in Kyoto. Very delicious Tsukemen. Queue for less than 20 min during lunch time. 3 min walk from bus stop. Reasonable price. Most of local people in the shop.
Best dipping noodle ramen of my life !
Great Ramen and Tsukemen! Full Japanese clientele, small place but advances quickly.
Excellent Tsukemen Ramen 10mins from Kyoto station. No English spoken here but plenty of English signage and menus. Rich broth which must have been fish based with miso I am guessing. Noodles were sensational in texture and flavour.
as good as i remembered, came second time. accidentally found it last time visiting Kyoto. it's really good, worth the wait.
Well worth a visit. Limited menu but tasty and good portion size. Don’t be put off by any queue, it soon disappears. Popular with locals and tourists
Ramen was really tasty and had the perfect spicy level for my taste 👍
The place is small and one-man operated. But the food is absolutely amazing!! Worth the wait. How to use kiosk is all written in Eng and with pics and numbers which make super easy for any foreigners. Highly recommend this place!
Just amazing!Had to wait for almost 30 minutes but it was more than worth it.Great food in a great location
Incredibly flavorful broth makes for incredibly flavorful ramen.
